Happy Columbus Day!

The long weekend is almost here and it looks like it's going to be a great one for checking out the leaves and pumpkins and maybe some piano practice??. How many of you have found the secret composer of the week? Don't forget to email  the name to me so you can get your 25 points for the Performance project. . You can also tell me at your next piano lesson. Don't forget to come back next week and try to find where I have hidden the new composer's name.

October

Happy October!  I hope you're using this cool & windy weekend to put in a little extra practicing.  See if you can get the first of your home performances done and your first  square filled on the board. Good Luck!

Piano Maestro

Another beautiful late September day! I heard that it'll be raining soon enough but I'll take this warmth any time I can get it.
The note flash competition is ending this week. The "junior class" students have taken over the top spots , we'll see what happens by the end of the week!
Next week we'll start the Key Flash competiiton. You should be able to find a set of small key signature flash cards in your Krazy for Keys binder that I gave you a few years ago. If not, let me know and I'll make you a set.

Monday 9/28/15

Good morning!!! What a beautiful day this looks to be! Did any of you see that fantastic eclipse of the moon last night? I thought of the composer,  Debussy's wonderful impressionistic piece  for piano " Clair de Lune" I challenge you all to listen to this piece this week either on a CD or this youtube link here:

It was a fun summer with lots of pop songs and Piano Maestro learned. The annual summer fun ice cream party was a blast!
I am really excited about this year's  incentive project:  Prepping For Performance!!   We have many exciting performances scheduled so check the updates on this website as well as the studio facebook page: Donovan Piano Studio.
It's going to be a great year!

the polar vortex!

It's the end of January and still so cold & wintery! Thank you to all the students who have bundled up against the cold & made it to their lessons these past weeks. I've added the January newsletter to the website so be sure to check the event dates so you don't miss anything.
